New Bike! Custom Garneau Gennix TR1 Elite

June 12, 2017by sarahkimbonner 3 Comments

Did 2017 start already? Getting a new bike makes it feel like 2017 is just starting. It’s lighter, stiffer, and, with custom paint work, a lot more me. Last time I got a […]

Liquid Gym

January 23, 2015by sarahkimbonner 1 Comment

I felt like Pamela Anderson, floating along the beach in slow motion…well, minus her famous upper body bounce. I had just stepped on an underwater treadmill at LiquidGym, an underwater gym, […]

Best Foot Forward? G8 Performance Insoles

Speedplay X/2 Pedals: Comprehensive Product Review

December 13, 2012by sarahkimbonner 1 Comment

The very first time I fell was my second or third ride in clipless pedals. I say “fell” and not “crashed” because I literally just tipped over from a stand still. […]

See Me On Instagram

Just me and my frozen peas. Home from the hospital and after 12 X-rays and a miracle, no broken bones! I've torn some small muscles in my ribs from where I hit the car (hence the peas!), a top-tube shaped hematoma, some road rash, and, since I landed on my bum, a really sore ass (can see those peas). #netflixandchill #frozenpeas #onthemend #luckylady
I often get caught up in life worrying about if I am good enough, especially as an athlete. I fear my race results aren't good enough to warrant another season, to attract and hold sponsors, to keep my support system enthusiastic. The fear that every doubt I have will come true despite my best efforts. But the real scary things are the moments that blind side us. The driver that speeds through a stop sign, the strange feeling as the world slows down and you see and hear your body slam into the hood of an SUV. The phone call that sends the love of your life into a haze of panic but simultaneously clarifies exactly what is important. You regret every single unkindness and cherish even the most mundane, like the way they hold your pinky until the ambulance comes. Laying on the ground with adrenaline and pain surging through your body as uncontrollable tears stream down your face. That's real fear. The next time I'm on the start line, the next time I question my passion, the next time I'm staring doubt right in the face...I'll be fearless AF. Thank you to the amazing strangers who helped me, the ambulance crew, the doctors, nurses, and x-ray team....your kindness (especially in the language department) was indescribable.
